Background

krayamotion was commissioned to create a visual arts piece and documentary for the Edinburgh Mela Festival.  The visual arts piece was to accompany the Yatra - Journeys Home show, part of The Edinburgh Mela Festival and Scottish Homecoming celebrations.

What We Did

The visual arts piece comprised of people from all cultures and age groups within Scotland's society in a time lapse style with famous Edinburgh and Glasgow architectural landmarks as the backdrop. This accompanied by the music of the Yatra - Journeys Home, demonstrated the cultural diversity in Scotland.

A behind-the-scenes documentary was also comprised to demonstrate how the Yatra - Journeys Home came together.

Results

The visual art piece and documentary were well received by the audiences and The Mela Festival have since planned an around the world tour of various music and arts festivals.  The documentary has also been used to attain more funding and interest in the project.
